Janice Nabors Raiteri To Be Featured Artist

Janice Nabors Raiteri, a recent transplant to Ste Genevieve's historic district, will be the featured artist at the Ste Genevieve Winery for the Fourth Friday Artwalk in August. The solo show will adorn the front room at the winery through September. Ms Raiteri works in inks on paper and artboard to create colorful and unusual paintings. She considers her art introspective and hopes the viewer will stop, study, and form an individual interpretation of the ever-changing compositions. In addition, Ms Raiteri will exhibit in the Art Guild's group show as well as in Rust on N Main. She plans to hold three open studios at her home studio shortly after the August venue. Information will be available at the artwalk. Be sure to put the winery on your list of stops!

Celebrate

August 15th, 2016

Celebrate

Artist Janice Nabors Raiteri's "Celebrate" was selected by to be printed on a memorial edition of a private cellar wine. The wine is a tribute to the late Bill Huddleston, a Memphian who was well respected in all facets of the wine industry. This wine was the brainchild of Ron Bunnell who with his wife, Susan, owns and operates Bunnell Family Cellars in Washington state. Ron, Janice, and Bill all were friends when they attended Kingsbury High School in Memphis sometime back in the last century. The wine along with the original artwork will be auctioned as a donation to one of Bill's favorite charities, Shelby Residential and Vocational Services. Both Janice and Ron will be present to sign the label at the SRVS Charity Fundraiser Gala which will be at the Memphis Hilton, August 20, from 7 til 11 pm. Tickets for the gala are available through the SRVS website.

July Final Friday Closing Reception

Ms. Raiteri says of her recent paintings, "I think in ink...in paintings that speak of subtle sensations, defying words. The colors ebb and flow, evolving organically as they are guided into orgastracts, continually changing, revealing themselves. In these distracted times, introspective art is essential. For it is in the stillness of silent conversation that one absorbs the wonderful energy of this world, hears its harmony, and moves with its modulating rhythms."

So Lightly Here

"So Lightly Here" -- an exhibition by Janice Nabors Raiteri will be on display here in Lawrence at Be Moved Studio (2 E 7th). Ms. Raiteri says of her recent paintings, "I think in ink...in paintings that speak of subtle sensations, defying words. The colors ebb and flow, evolving organically as they are guided into orgastracts, continually changing, revealing themselves.

They are small reminders that “...the boundaries to which we attach all terms are in constant change...for even the hills are shadows, they flow from form to form, And nothing stands.” (Alan Watts)

In these distracted times, introspective art is essential. For it is in the stillness of silent conversation that one absorbs the wonderful energy of this world, hears its harmony, and moves with its modulating rhythms." There will be a reception for the artist this Final Friday, April 29th, from 5 to 9pm. Everyone is invited.
